Should we not practise what we preach? We are champions in speaking about compassion, let us show our compassion to animals and birds by refraining to eat meat. If our taste does not leave us, it's upto us to decide. We know well, in the beginning the Lord appointed vegetables for our food. By leaving flesh and selecting vegetables as our food, it is honouring God's command. I may not be liked by many. Many would get angry on me. I don't wish to judge anyone and I cannot compel anyone to be compassionate. But are we not getting moved by the painful screaming of the animals ? Anyone has right to criticise me but I have good intentions. Think about this : Should not our compassion rule over our taste temptation ?
